Kanpur: The body of a 25-year-old man was recovered from a drain on Saturday morning in Shekhpur village under the Maharajpur police station area in Kanpur.The deceased was identified as Manish Nishad. Villagers told police that he was addicted to alcohol.According to the preliminary investigation, the youth is suspected to have drowned.Police reached the spot after receiving information and sent the body for postmortem examination.The police are analysing CCTV footage from nearby cameras to ascertain how the youth reached the drain and fell into it.Maharajpur inspector Janardan Singh said further legal action would be taken based on the postmortem report and the complaint submitted by the family.
