Mysuru: Youth Impact Centre, aimed at improving the skills of youngsters, in electrical automation, and smart system management areas, is coming up in Mysuru at a cost of Rs 16 crore shortly.It also aims at providing job opportunities to youngsters in industries to 2,000 youths every year.The state govt has announced establishment of Schneider Electric Youth Impact Centre project in Mysuru and Kalaburgi districts in 2025-26 budget.The project is coming up as part of Karnataka-Quality Upgradation for Employment and Skill Transformation (K-QUEST) project.Even though lakhs of youths complete their degree courses in different disciplines, the majority of them lack necessary skills needed for industry needs. In order to meet this requirement, to bridge this gap, the state govt has initiated this project to train 2,000 youths with necessary skills every year.Mysuru Youth Impact Centre will come up in Hebbal Industrial area will train the youths belonging to Southern and Coastal Karnataka districts. Kalaburagi Youth Impact Centre trains the youths belonging to Kalyana Karnataka, Kittur Karnataka, and North Karnataka under the scheme.The department of district industries and commerce, including skill development, entrepreneurship, livelihood and skill development commission, will select the graduated youths from every district, train them under the project at Schneider Youth Impact Centres.Joint director of industries and commerce Manjula said that the state initiated this project in Mysuru and Kalaburgi to improve skills in various future tech, including electrical, automation, smart design, and several other technological skills.Mysuru Industries Association vice president Suresh Kumar Jain appreciated the state govt initiative of establishment of such a facility in Mysuru to transform the skills in several technologies, besides to provide employment opportunities for them, he said.
