Pune: A 21-year-old youth drowned in a lake at Dhurnali waterfall near Otur, about 110 km from Pune, on Sunday. The Pune Rural police have identified the deceased as Zahir Ali Ansari of Narayangaon. Ansari hailed from Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh.An officer from the Otur police told TOI that on Sunday, Ansari and his four friends came to Dhurnali waterfall for an outing.“Around 4 pm, Ansari went near the lake to answer nature’s call. However, he lost his balance and fell into the water. His friends and other revellers brought him out of the water and took him to a hospital. Ansari was declared dead on arrival by the doctors,” the officer said.Police have registered a case of accidental death. “Our investigations are on,” he said.
