Ranchi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in parts of Jharkhand till September 12 under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over the north Bay of Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh.Heavy rain is likely in Ranchi, Ramgarh, Hazaribag, Chatra, Koderma, Giridih, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Deoghar and Jamtara till Friday morning, followed by Latehar, Palamu and Garhwa over the next 24 hours.Ranchi Met Centre deputy director Abhishek Anand said a low-pressure area is likely to form over the Bay, leading to widespread rainfall across the state. Jharkhand has recorded 840.5 mm rainfall so far, 4% below normal.
