New Delhi: Yashoda Medicity has partnered with Paramount Bed to introduce VitalGo Total Lift Bed (TLB), to advance critical care and address issues related to prolonged bed rest in patients.

The hospital said that unlike conventional ICU beds, the VitalGo TLB is designed to provide In-Bed Verticalization Therapy through an integrated Weight Bearing Control System

“The technology enables patients to be gradually and safely moved from a lying position to full standing while remaining fully supported within the bed, making early mobilization a practical part of routine intensive care,” the press statement added.

According to the hospital, TLB helps address challenges that come with prolonged bed rest in critically ill patients such as ICU-acquired weakness, muscle loss, respiratory compromise, delayed rehabilitation, and extended hospital stays.

It also supports respiratory recovery by improving lung recruitment, facilitating secretion clearance, improving ventilation-perfusion matching and reducing the risk of blood clot formations, aspiration and ventilator-associated pneumonia, it added.

The technology can be used for patients who need mechanical ventilation, ECMO, mechanical circulatory support systems, major cardiothoracic, orthopaedic, abdominal, transplant and spinal surgeries, the hospital said in a press release.

“Critical care today is focused on survival as well as on restoring function and improving quality of recovery. The introduction of the VitalGo Total Lift Bed reflects our commitment to adopting globally recognized technologies that support evidence-based critical care practices. Moreover, early rehabilitation has emerged as an important component of intensive care, and such innovations enable our multidisciplinary teams to deliver more comprehensive and centered care,” said Dr. Upasana Arora, Managing Director, Yashoda Group of Hospitals.
