Dimapur: Nand Kishore Yadav was sworn in as the 23rd governor of Nagaland in a ceremony at the Lok Bhavan in Kohima on Friday.Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court Justice Ashutosh Kumar administered the oath of office to the new governor in the presence of CM Neiphiu Rio.The ceremony was attended by members of the state cabinet, legislators, senior govt officials, representatives of various organisations and invited dignitaries.Addressing the people of the state, Yadav conveyed his commitment to working for the welfare and progress of Nagaland.Yadav stressed that the aspirations of the people for lasting peace, stability and development remain paramount.“Peace and harmony provide the foundation for sustainable progress, and with collective effort and mutual understanding, Nagaland will continue to move forward on the path of prosperity,” he said.Yadav affirmed that he will strive to uphold the Constitution of India and work in close cooperation with the state govt and all sections of society to promote good governance, inclusive development for the welfare of the people and to strengthen peace, encourage development and preserve the unique cultural heritage of Nagaland.
