Bhubaneswar: The public works department on Saturday reviewed concerns raised by MPs and MLAs over delays, monitoring and quality issues in govt projects, including roads and bridges in respective constituencies, and directed officials to submit compliance reports.Works minister Prithiviraj Harichandan held discussions with the department secretary and senior officials on letters submitted by MPs. He said issues raised by three MPs were reviewed in detail and compliance letters would be sent to them within seven days, mentioning project progress and steps to remove bottlenecks.On concerns raised by Berhampur MP Pradeep Kumar Panigrahy, Harichandan said the project had not been delayed and work was under way. He said construction near a busy junction in Berhampur faced difficulties due to heavy traffic but was progressing at the required pace.The department also reviewed issues raised by Balangir MP Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo. The minister said work on a bypass had been delayed due to settlements in the town area but would be expedited. He added that Nabarangpur MP Balabhadra Majhi’s demand for a vehicle underpass was under consideration.
