T’puram: A 75-year-old man died after falling from the second floor of a house while doing some maintenance work at Karamana on Tuesday night. The deceased was identified as Haridas K G, of Kalady near Manacaud.Police said the deceased was a daily wage worker and had reached the house of Priya M Surendran near Thaliyal temple for work. There were some issues with electric connection at the house and the deceased was checking it by standing on the sunshade when the accident took place. The sunshade was slippery due to the incessant rain and he slipped down onto a shed with a polycarbonate sheet. The sheet broke and he fell further onto a bike which was parked in the shed. He suffered a serious head injury and multiple fractures in the fall. He was soon rushed to Santhivila hospital and later referred to the medical college hospital, where he was declared dead.The body was sent to relatives after postmortem and funeral was held at his house. Karamana police registered a case under BNSS Section 194 for unnatural death.
