Mysuru: Observing that women today are excelling in every field, Suttur mutt seer Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami on Tuesday said women proved their capability by successfully leading roles ranging from small-scale industries and agriculture to large international corporations.He was speaking at the International Women’s Day celebrations organised by the women’s wing of the All India Veerashaiva Lingayat Mahasabha at Rajendra Bhavan.The seer said earlier women were largely expected to take care of household responsibilities and education of children. However, the situation has changed significantly today, with women effectively balancing professional careers while also playing a leading role in managing family responsibilities.He also praised Keerthana, a rural student and BSc gold medallist, stating that her achievement demonstrates how dedication and hard work can help students succeed even when they study in govt institutions. He said that in many university convocations, nearly 80% of gold medallists are women, with several of them coming from rural areas.During the programme, Brinda Suhas Godhi and Keerthana were felicitated for their achievements.
