Agartala: Final polling data for the ADC Village Committee elections held on Monday showed that 5,33,242 of 6,58,247 voters cast their ballots, recording a turnout of 81.01% amid allegations of violence and attempts to disrupt polling.According to figures from the presiding officer, female turnout stood at 81.8%, compared with 80.21% among male voters. A total of 2,70,610 women voted, compared with 2,62,632 men — a difference of 7,978 votes, state election commission secretary Anurag Sen said.Sen said Manu block in Dhalai recorded the highest number of votes cast, at 52,062, including 25,330 male and 26,732 female voters. Kalyanpur block in Khowai recorded the lowest number of votes cast, at 388, including 192 male and 196 female voters.Satchand in South Tripura recorded the highest overall turnout, at 89.25%, with male turnout at 88.70% and female turnout at 89.81%. Poangbari recorded the highest female turnout, at 90.34%, while male turnout there was 87.83%.Damcherra in North Tripura recorded the lowest overall turnout, at 69.42%. Male turnout there was 67.64%, while female turnout was 71.15%. Even in the block with the lowest overall participation, women recorded a higher turnout than men.Unakoti district also saw strong participation, with Kumarghat recording 85.58% turnout, Chandipur 85.13%, Pecharthal 83.46% and Gournagar 84.06%.In Dhalai, Ganganagar recorded 86.02% turnout, Raishyabari 86.38% and Dumbornagar 82.51%. Manu, which had the highest absolute number of votes cast, recorded 80.45% turnout.The five blocks with the highest number of votes cast were Manu with 52,062, Dasda with 30,504, Karbook with 28,561, Pecharthal with 27,978 and Dumburnagar with 27,720.The lowest voting totals were recorded in Kalyanpur with 388, Kalacherra with 862, BC Nagar with 1,004, Jampuijala with 1,184 and Rajnagar with 1,339.Female turnout was higher than male turnout in several larger blocks, including Manu, where female turnout was 82.33% against 78.55% for men; Dasda, 73.89% against 71.22%; Karbook, 85.45% against 83.57%; Pecharthal, 83.68% against 83.24%; and Dumburnagar, 82.96% against 82.07%.
