Lucknow: With the start of the month-long Shrawan on Thursday, the Lucknow Police commissionerate has rolled out a multi-layered security plan, deploying women police personnel in plain clothes, digital volunteers, intelligence units and round-the-clock social media monitoring to secure major temples and kanwar routes.JCP (law & order) Babloo Kumar said additional personnel have been deployed at prominent Shiv temples, including Budheshwar Mahadev, Mankameshwar, Nageshwar Mahadev, Mahakaleshwar, Omkareshwar and Chandrika Devi, where large crowds are expected over the coming weeks.The commissionerate has stationed LIU personnel in plain clothes to keep watch on anti-social elements, while digital volunteers and civil defence teams have been roped in for community policing and crowd management. Anti-Romeo squads, pink mobile units and women police personnel will patrol temple premises and kanwar routes to enhance the safety of women devotees.“CCTV cameras will provide 24×7 surveillance at temples, kanwar routes, ghats and other sensitive locations, with feeds being monitored from dedicated control rooms. SDRF teams will patrol water bodies and ghats to prevent mishaps,” Kumar added.Traffic diversions have been enforced around major religious sites, including Budheshwar crossing, Mankameshwar temple approach, Daliganj crossing, Hanuman Setu, Pal tiraha, Dubagga tiraha, Barabirwa tiraha and Sitapur road, while barricading has been put in place to regulate pedestrian movement.
