Lucknow: Top achievers to be awarded during Lucknow University convocation said mastering writing style in examinations holds more value than merely finishing the syllabus.Among the top medal winners, Farah Chand, Anshika Singh and Kajal Bajpai, said clarity of expression and structured answers played decisive role in their success. Consistent practice, conceptual clarity and effective writing shape academic performance, highlighting a shift from rote learning to answer articulation.Farah Chand, who secured 9 medals including 7 gold and 2 silver, completed BA and MA in Persian and aims to become a teacher. She received two Chancellor’s silver medals for highest marks in postgraduate programmes and for being the best woman student of the university, along with multiple gold medals across semesters and faculties. Daughter of farmer MohammadAslam and homemaker Chand Bano, Farah said, “Writing reflects your understanding. You may study everything, but if youcannot present it well, it does not translate into marks. Smart work lies in how you organise and express answers.”Anshika Singh, who won 9 medals including 8 gold and 1 bronze along with a book prize, plans to pursue civil services. Daughter of police officer Uday Nath Singh and homemaker Vandana Singh, she topped MA in Ancient Indian History and Archaeology across categories.“Completing the syllabus is important, but selective and repeated revision with answer writing practice makes the difference. Smart work is about knowing what to write and how to write it within time,” she said.Kajal Bajpai, who secured 7 gold medals in MSc Physics, also aspires to become a teacher. Daughter of Shivakant Bajpai, a private employee and homemaker Neeta Bajpai, she topped her programme across semesters and categories.“Concept clarity builds the base, but presentation gives you the edge. Writing precise answers, using proper structure and staying relevant saves time and improves scores.
