Vadodara: A 32-year-old woman working for the 108 emergency services, Bhavika Suthar, was allegedly found to be drunk while on duty in an ambulance in the city on Sunday evening. Sayajigunj police filed a complaint under the Prohibition Act and arrested Suthar.According to the police, the ambulance was carrying a critically ill patient to the hospital. The family of the patient noticed near Priyalaxmi Mill that Suthar, who works as technician in the ambulance, was drunk and stopped the vehicle. They told Suthar to get off but she allegedly refused and created a ruckus.The patient’s family then called the police. Personnel reached the spot and detained 32-year-old Suthar. “Suthar was brought to Sayajigunj police station and arrested,” said S J Pandya, Sayajigunj police inspector. He added that the patient died as she was critically ill.
