Varanasi: A woman sub-inspector was suspended after a video purportedly showing her repeatedly slapping a woman on the premises of Chaubepur police station went viral on social media, police said.ACP (Sarnath) Vinay Kumar Dwivedi said police received information on Thursday about the incident involving sub-inspector Kumari Roshni Singh, who allegedly slapped a woman at the police station.Following the circulation of the 8-second video, an inquiry was initiated. Based on the findings, the deputy commissioner of police (Varuna) placed Singh under suspension, the ACP said.Police said further departmental and legal action is being taken in the matter.
