Darbhanga: A Darbhanga civil court on Thursday sentenced a woman and her paramour to life imprisonment for murdering her husband in 2023.Additional district and sessions judge-10 Aadidev also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on each convict. The court had convicted Sangeeta Devi and Kundan Kumar alias Bajrangi on July 24.According to additional public prosecutor Dilip Kumar Sah, Sangeeta and Kundan were in a relationship, which was opposed by her husband, Ram Kumar Sah (40). The duo allegedly conspired to kill him and lured him to a poultry farm in Kamrauli village under Simri police station on July 21, 2023, on the pretext of celebrating her elder son’s birthday.The prosecution said the two assaulted Ram with wooden sticks and other weapons. His father, Ramashish Sah, who rushed to the spot after receiving information, witnessed the assault. The victim died at the scene, following which his father lodged an FIR.The prosecution examined 10 witnesses. Both convicts have remained in judicial custody since the incident.
