Ghaziabad: A woman and her boyfriend were arrested on Sunday for allegedly murdering her husband, Anshul, in Khoda Colony. Police said the man shot Anshul dead with a country-made pistol on Saturday. The two accused had allegedly been in a relationship for the past two years and wanted to marry each other.The accused were identified as Nisha (30), a resident of Vandana Vihar in Khoda, and Pappu alias Ganga Bhagat (35), a resident of Khiri. They were booked under Section 103 (murder) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and relevant sections of Arms Act.ACP (Indirapuram) Suryabali Maurya said police arrested the two on Sunday based on a tip-off. An illegal .315-bore country-made pistol allegedly used in the murder was seized at Pappu’s instance.Police received a complaint from Anshul’s sister in the early hours of Sunday. She said Anshul and Nisha, who had a love marriage in 2015 and have two children, lived in a rented room in Vandana Vihar. Both worked at a stitching company in Noida. Pappu, the husband of their maternal cousin, had also been living with them.In her complaint, Anshul’s sister alleged that Nisha and Pappu had developed a relationship. Anshul had complained about their relationship several times, but the family had settled the matter internally due to social stigma. She alleged that the two wanted to eliminate Anshul so they could marry each other.The ACP said Pappu told police that his first wife had died and his second wife lived in their village.According to the ACP, Pappu told police that he and Nisha had planned the murder about a week earlier. He allegedly procured a country-made pistol and cartridges from his village, which the two hid in the room.Anshul had taken two days’ leave from work, while Nisha continued working, police said. On Saturday, when Anshul was alone at home, Pappu allegedly went to the room around 1pm to have a meal. After eating, he took out the pistol and fired two rounds at Anshul before fleeing. Anshul died on the spot, police said.Pappu allegedly told Nisha about the murder on the phone. The two had been in continuous contact on Saturday, the ACP said.
