Bengaluru: A wedding shopping trip turned into a heartbreaking loss after a woman lost gold jewellery worth nearly Rs 9 lakh to pickpockets in the bustling Nagarathpet Main Road area recently.Shruthi S, 52, told police the incident happened Sunday between 1.30pm and 3.30pm. The Kodigehalli resident had travelled to her village in Doddaballapur a day earlier to bring her sister to the city for wedding shopping. Before leaving, Shruthi packed gold jewellery, including chains, rings, earrings, in a bag for safekeeping during the journey.On July 19, Shruthi, her sister and other family members went shopping. The jewellery was kept in a small purse and placed in her bag. They purchased clothes at a silk store near the corporation area. Schecked her bag and the purse there and found the jewellery intact.However, while walking along Nagarathpet Main Road in central Bengaluru, she again checked her bag near a shop at 3.30pm and was shocked to see the purse missing.
