Kanpur: A 40-year-old woman was injured after a mud roof collapsed on her on Wednesday in Vaina village of Rajpur block in Kanpur Dehat.Her son, who was also present in the house at the time, had a narrow escape.Villagers rushed to the spot after hearing a loud thud and pulled the woman out of the debris after nearly 1.5 hours.She was rushed to the Rajpur Primary Health Centre and is currently undergoing treatment.The woman’s husband, Hariom Singh, alleged that despite his name being included in the govt housing scheme, he had not received a permanent house.He said surveys were conducted every year, including last year, but he was yet to receive a permanent house.Sikandra SDM Usha Singh said that as soon as information about the incident was received, the lekhpal was sent to the spot for an inquiry. She added that necessary action would be taken based on the lekhpal’s report.
