Kanpur: Seven children were injured after the school bus they were travelling in collided with another school bus in Hamirpur district’s Rath Kotwali area on Thursday morning.On receiving information, police reached the spot and rushed the children to the Community Health Centre in Rath for treatment.One of the injured students told police that the tyre of the bus coming from the opposite direction allegedly burst, causing the vehicle to lose control and ram into their school bus.The students also alleged that the driver of the other bus, which was empty, fled the spot after the accident.Circle officer Rath Rajiv Pratap Singh said the condition of the children was stable and they were sent home with their parents.He added that police were trying to trace the absconding driver and ascertain the cause of the accident. Further legal proceedings are underway.
