Gaya: A woman was found dead with her throat slit and her husband lying seriously injured beside her inside their locked room at Baradih village under Mufassil police station area of Gaya on Sunday morning. Police suspect this a murder-suicide case.The deceased was identified as Fekni Devi (35), while her husband, Manoj Bind (40), was admitted to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital (ANMMCH) in a critical condition.Police said the room where the couple had been sleeping was locked from inside. Preliminary findings suggest that the man may have killed his wife before attempting suicide by slashing his wrists. However, police said the exact sequence of events would become clear only after the postmortem report and questioning of the injured man, who is under treatment.On being informed, a police team from Mufassil police station reached the spot and launched an investigation. The woman’s body was sent to ANMMCH for postmortem. Mufassil SHO Devraj Indra said, “Police are awaiting the postmortem report to ascertain the exact cause of death. Once Manoj Bind regains consciousness, he will be questioned about the incident.”According to family members, Manoj, a mason, had been unable to work since suffering a serious fracture in his right leg in Dec last year. To support the family, Fekni had started working as a worker, a move that led to frequent disputes between the couple.
