Kanpur: Sisamau police station on Thursday registered an FIR in a cyber fraud case in which fraudsters allegedly duped a Kanpur woman of Rs 3,40,260 and forced her to transfer the money to a bank account in Kota, Rajasthan.According to the complaint, the victim, Rita Sharma, a resident of P Road in Premnagar, alleged that she received a call on January 14, in which the caller threatened her, put her under ‘digital arrest’, and forced her to make the transactions.On realising she had been conned, she approached the Cyber Cell in Swaroopnagar and DCP (Central) Atul Kumar Srivastava. The case was finally registered on June 11.Sisamau station in-charge Rakesh Singh said a case has been registered and further action is underway.
