Vadodara: A 24-year-old resident of Ahmedabad has registered a complaint of cheating at Navapura police station against four persons for duping her under the pretext of helping her get a US visa. Amisha Rupani told the police that she wanted an M-1 visa for flight training in the US.The accused identified as Premlata Dham, Riddhi Joshi, Shubham Desai and Vishal Gandhi promised Rupani that they would help her get the visa. The accused then asked her to pay money for visa fee, training fee and other charges after which Rupani ended up paying Rs 23 lakh to the accused.She said in her complaint that the accused kept promising that she would get the visa. The accused even put a bogus M-1 stamp on her passport and gave her tickets to Singapore for various dates. But whenever Rupani went to the airport to board the flight, the accused would call her and ask her to discontinue the journey citing various reasons.Rupani grew suspicious and consulted another travel agent who told her that the visa stamp was bogus. She then approached the police.
