Varanasi: Ballia police arrested a doctor for death of stillborn twin girls and their mother due to alleged negligence. The doctor was booked under Section 105 BNS (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) at Kotwali police station of Ballia district.According to police, the complainant submitted a written complaint on Jan 13 stating he admitted his wife to Purvanchal Hospital, where she delivered stillborn twin baby girls by operation. Dr Aditya Singh had declared the woman’s condition was fine but after some time, he said she had suffered a heart attack. She was referred to Mau and was placed in an ambulance, though she was dead already. The complaint said death of all three occurred due to negligence in treatment by the doctor.According to police, a case was registered under relevant sections at the local police station and investigation was underway. On Mar 29, SI Saurabh Kumar Singh and his team searched for the accused. Dr Aditya Singh, resident of Kasba Bairiya, was taken into police custody and legal proceedings were completed against him.
