Varanasi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), BHU signed an MoU with Dr Shakuntala Devi University, Lucknow on Monday to promote academic cooperation, research collaboration, and innovation-driven initiatives between the two institutions.The MoU signing ceremony was held in presence of IIT-BHU director Prof Amit Patra, Dr Shakuntala Devi University Vice Chancellor Prof Sanjay Singh, and Prof Vijay Shankar Sharma.Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries emphasised that the agreement marks the beginning of a long-term academic association built on shared vision, mutual growth, and collaborative innovation. The MoU follows earlier institutional interactions and leadership visits that initiated discussions on joint academic and research activities.Under this collaboration, both institutions will work together in several key areas, including joint research and development projects, faculty and student exchange programmes, organisation of workshops, conferences, and training programmes, skill development and capacity-building initiatives, and interdisciplinary innovation addressing emerging technological and societal challenges.The partnership aims to create opportunities for students and researchers to benefit from shared expertise, infrastructure, and academic resources. It is expected to foster innovation-driven education and contribute significantly to research advancements and industry-relevant skill development.Officials said this collaboration will strengthen academic excellence, encourage interdisciplinary engagement, and generate impactful outcomes for society.
