Nagpur: A 27-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted, abused and threatened by a man she had befriended at a local gym. The woman had blocked his number and refused to continue the acquaintance, police said.According to the complaint filed by the woman, a resident of Vaishali Nagar in Panchpaoli, she met the accused at a gym and developed a friendly rapport. Over time, the accused allegedly began behaving inappropriately, prompting the woman to end the friendship, cops said.Despite this, the man allegedly kept calling her repeatedly. When she eventually blocked his number to avoid further contact, the accused allegedly showed up near her workplace on Sept 18.Police said the accused punched and abused the woman. He also allegedly attempted to force himself on her and threatened to kill her.The woman approached Pratap Nagar police station and lodged a complaint. Police have registered a case against the accused under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
