Kolkata: ITC has concluded the acquisition of Century Pulp and Paper (CPP), marking the formal integration of the business into ITC Paperboards & Specialty Papers portfolio. The completion, announced through a regulatory filing, makes ITC India’s largest integrated paperboards and paper business. The total installed capacity will rise by over 50% to approximately 1.5 million tonnes.The acquisition includes the Century Pulp and Paper undertaking along with its assets, liabilities, contracts and employees as a going concern under the business transfer agreement signed earlier. In a LinkedIn post, ITC chairman and MD Sanjiv Puri welcomed the CPP workforce to the company and described the integration as a defining moment for ITC’s paperboards and specialty papers business.“This marks the coming together of two enterprises united by a shared commitment to excellence, innovation, competitiveness and sustainable value creation,” Puri’s post read.Highlighting the long-term business opportunities in the sector, Puri said that as India continues on a strong growth trajectory, demand for high-quality paperboards, sustainable packaging solutions and alternatives to plastic is expected to rise significantly.The acquisition was first announced in March 2025.
