Kanpur: A 53-year-old widow died under suspicious circumstances after visiting a man alleged by her family to be her lover in Hinguthiya village of Etawah district.The deceased, Shyama Devi, was a resident of Baheda village.According to police, Shyama had gone to meet a man, described as a baba, at around 6.30pm on Saturday. The man took her to the Mahewa Community Health Centre on Sunday morning, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.Family members told police that Shyama’s husband, Virendra Singh, had also died under suspicious circumstances three years ago. They alleged that she had been visiting the baba since then.The family further claimed that the man came to their house on Sunday morning and informed them of Shyama’s death. When they reached the hospital, they found that the body had already been taken into police custody and sent for postmortem examination.Police said further investigation is underway and the exact cause of death will be known after the postmortem report is received.
