Ahmedabad: The state experienced widespread rainfall on Friday, with 12 talukas recording 50mm or more by 6pm.Gir Gadhada in Gir Somnath and Meghraj in Arvalli received 78mm of rainfall each till 6pm, whereas Ahmedabad city recorded 73mm. Talod in Sabarkantha received 64mm, followed by Dediapada in Narmada with 61mm.

In all, 224 of 268 talukas received 1mm or more rain, indicating widespread rainfall during the day.Notably, at the end of Aug, the state had a significant deficit, which has been reduced by the fresh spell of rain that started early this week.According to an India Meteorological Department (IMD) bulletin, the southwest monsoon may withdraw from parts of Rajasthan starting Saturday.The state currently has an upper-air cyclonic circulation, which may bring light to moderate rain to parts of Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari and Valsad, among others.By 6am on Friday, the state had received 85.7% of its seasonal rainfall.
