Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Wednesday criticised the BJP-led state govt over its handling of the proposed 11,000-MW Siang Upper Multipurpose Project (SUMP), questioning why a preliminary feasibility report (PFR) was being prioritised over obtaining the explicit consent of affected indigenous communities.In a statement, APCC general secretary and spokesperson Kon Jirjo Jotham said seeking public consent after completing technical studies could present a fait accompli to the local population.The statement came following assurances by CM Pema Khandu on Tuesday that the PFR is strictly intended to determine technical feasibility, and that the project will not move forward if deemed technically unfeasible.
