Cloudy weather in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: After days of relative quiet following July’s heavy downpour, it may be time to bring out the raincoats and umbrellas again. After dealing mostly with overcast skies and the occasional stray drizzle, the city is likely to see light showers on Saturday and Sunday as a fresh spell of rain prepares to brush across parts of Gujarat.On Thursday, Amdavadis felt the muggy prelude to the shift: the maximum temperature crept up to 33.6°C, 1.5 degrees above normal, while morning humidity levels hit a sticky 82%.The minimum temperature was 26.4°C, 1 degree higher than normalAcross the wider state, the weather activity is expected to pick up momentum northwards.According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rain is in the cards for Sabarkantha and Arvalli on Saturday, spreading to Banaskantha and Vav-Tharad by Sunday. Other districts are slated for light thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph, adding to a monsoon tally that has already delivered 70% of Gujarat’s seasonal quota.
