The IMD has issued a yellow alert for 10 districts of Jharkhand till Friday morning

NEW DELHI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for parts of Jharkhand for Friday, with heavy rain likely in several parts of the state.Odisha is expected to see very heavy rainfall at isolated places, while heavy showers are also likely over several states including Assam, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Telangana and Uttarakhand.Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are also likely over parts of eastern, central and southern India, while Delhi is expected to see light rain from Friday onwards.

IMD alert for Friday

The IMD has forecast very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Odisha.Heavy rain is also likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, east Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Uttarakhand, West Bengal and Sikkim.Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are likely over Andhra Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.Similar conditions are likely over Bihar, east Rajasthan, Jharkhand, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Telangana, with thunderstorms and lightning expected over several parts of central India and the Northeast.

Delhi-NCR weather tomorrow

The IMD has forecast light rainfall in Delhi from Friday onwards, with generally cloudy conditions and heavy rain possible later in the period.

UP weather tomorrow

Eastern Uttar Pradesh is likely to receive rain and thundershowers at a few places over the next two days, while western parts of the state are expected to remain largely dry.The IMD has forecast scattered rainfall over east Uttar Pradesh through the coming days, with thunderstorms and lightning likely on Friday.

Jharkhand, Bihar and Odisha weather

The IMD has issued a yellow alert for 10 districts of Jharkhand till Friday morning: Ranchi, Ramgarh, Hazaribag, Chatra, Koderma, Giridih, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Deoghar and Jamtara.A similar warning has been issued for Latehar, Chatra, Palamu and Garhwa for the following 24 hours. Widespread rainfall is expected across Jharkhand, with heavy showers likely in parts of the state.Odisha is likely to see widespread rainfall on Friday and Saturday, with very heavy rain possible at isolated places on Friday and another spell of heavy rain on Saturday.

Northeast weather forecast

Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya are likely to see widespread rainfall from Friday onwards, while Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are expected to receive widespread rain through Saturday.Heavy rainfall is likely over Assam and Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Thunderstorms and lightning are also likely over parts of the region.

Central India forecast

Chhattisgarh is likely to receive widespread rainfall through the coming days, with heavy rain on Friday and very heavy rain possible at isolated places on Saturday.East Madhya Pradesh may also receive heavy rain on Friday, while west Madhya Pradesh is expected to see more widespread rainfall from Saturday.

South India weather

Kerala is likely to receive widespread rainfall on Friday and Saturday, with heavy rain possible during this period. Telangana is also expected to see widespread rainfall, with heavy rain likely on Friday.Coastal Andhra Pradesh may receive heavy rain on Friday, while thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are likely over parts of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

IMD’s latest forecast for the next few days

Rainfall activity is expected to remain high over eastern and central India through the weekend. Odisha and Chhattisgarh may continue to receive heavy showers on Saturday, while very heavy rain is also possible over Odisha.Rainfall is expected to become more widespread over west Madhya Pradesh, central Maharashtra and Marathwada from Saturday. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are also likely to see more widespread rainfall during the coming days.
