Mumbai: The Vasai Virar Citizens Action Forum on Sunday tweeted about a 7.26 am Virar–Churchgate AC local witnessing water leakage inside an AC coach, causing significant inconvenience and discomfort to commuters.“It is deeply concerning that passengers are paying a steep premium fare for AC local services, yet basic standards of safety, comfort, and maintenance are not being ensured,” the forum pointed out. Senior WR officials were unavailable for comment.Reacting to the tweet, a commuter said citizens choose AC locals expecting a reliable and superior travel experience. However, incidents like water dripping inside coaches raise serious questions about the upkeep and quality control of these services. If passengers cannot travel safely and comfortably even in premium-class coaches, the purpose of charging higher fares stands defeated, the commuter added. The Vasai Virar Citizens Action Forum urged railway authorities to immediately investigate the cause of this leakage.
