Chandigarh: Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring on Tuesday thanked Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for reversing the decision to hike the entry tax on vehicles entering the state. Warring spoke on the phone with Sukhu to convey his gratitude. “I express my gratitude to the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh Sukhvinder Sukhu for conceding to our request to revert the entry tax for outside vehicles, including those from Punjab, to the previous rate,” he said on X. In other major relief to the residents of the border areas of the two states, those living within the five-km radius of the state border will get free entry to the state, Warring said, adding that the HP CM told him that these passes can be issued by the respective SDMs/tehsildars in the two states for all those living within the five-km belt.
