Prayagraj: Two persons, including a ward boy of Beli Hospital, were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly beating a 42-year-old man to death earlier this month.Police said Manoj Kumar had reportedly wandered out of the hospital wards and entered a residential area within the hospital campus on July 5. He allegedly knocked on the doors of some hospital employees, following which he was assaulted by locals, including ward boy Irfan (28) and his friend Jitendra Kumar (39).Manoj sustained serious injuries and died during treatment at the hospital on July 6.Following his death, his wife, Rinki, lodged an FIR against unidentified persons under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), alleging that her husband had been beaten to death.During the investigation, police identified the accused and arrested Irfan and Jitendra, both residents of the Beli Hospital campus. Further investigation is underway.
