Prayagraj: Prayagraj Airport has secured the ninth position nationally in the first round of the Airports Authority of India’s (AAI) Customer Satisfaction Survey (CSS) for 2025-26, reflecting significant improvement in passenger services and facilities.The airport, which caters exclusively to domestic flights, climbed three places from its previous 12th rank to emerge among the country’s top-performing airports.According to the survey, Prayagraj Airport figured among the top 10 of nearly 60 domestic airports evaluated by AAI. It was also ranked as the second-best airport in Uttar Pradesh after Ayodhya (fifth). Notably, Ayodhya and Prayagraj were the only two airports from the state to feature in the national top 10.Among other airports in Uttar Pradesh, Kanpur’s Chakeri Airport was placed 19th, while Gorakhpur Airport secured the 32nd spot.The CSS is based on direct passenger feedback and assesses airports on over 30 parameters, including check-in experience, security screening, staff behaviour, flight information systems, cleanliness, terminal facilities and overall travel experience.Prayagraj Airport scored 4.89 out of 5, underlining high levels of passenger satisfaction and its sustained efforts to enhance amenities and operational efficiency.Airport director Ganesh Yadav credited the achievement to the dedicated efforts of airport staff and continuous improvements in passenger services.“This recognition reflects the airport’s commitment to providing a seamless, safe and comfortable travel experience,” he said.Airport Advisory Committee member and MP Praveen Patel welcomed the achievement, saying the recognition would further strengthen the airport’s reputation and encourage continued enhancement of facilities for the growing number of air travellers.
