DoneHyderabad: Senior BRS leader T Harish Rao said that chief minister A Revanth Reddy is more interested in the ‘real estate project’ Future City than in completing the Health City project in Warangal. He warned that if the super-speciality hospital is not completed and inaugurated immediately, the BRS would organise protests, including hunger strikes, in Warangal.Harish Rao, along with party leaders, visited Warangal Health City (super speciality hospital) on Tuesday. Addressing the media, he said that the BRS govt had initiated the Health City project for the benefit of the poor. During KCR’s tenure, MGM Hospital provided free heart surgeries, but under the current Congress administration, it has become infested with rats and bandicoots. He said the chief minister should focus on completing the hospital construction instead of engaging in vendettas and illegal arrests against BRS leaders.Harish also alleged that the Congress govt is neglecting irrigation projects such as Devadula, where only 10% of the work is pending. He challenged the Congress party to a debate on irrigation projects in the assembly without cutting the microphones or turning off the cameras. “Our recent visit to the Devadula project revealed that only 6 out of 10 motors at Sammakka Barrage were operational, lifting only 1,700 cusecs instead of the required 2,700 cusecs per day. We exposed to the public how the project is being affected by Congress’ negligence. This prompted the chief minister to hastily review and order all motors to be operational. This is not just a victory for BRS, but for the farmers as well,” he said.Harish Rao said that while deadlines for the projects keep changing, work is not progressing. Ministers continue to emphasise the importance of the Devadula project, but in practice, it has become their last priority. During the KCR govt’s tenure, Rs 7,300 crore was spent to provide irrigation to 3.2 lakh acres. Now, Congress ministers are merely extending deadlines and wasting time, he claimed. Harish added that the CM had said he would speak about irrigation in the assembly, and the BRS has accepted the challenge and is ready for a debate.
