Vadodara: Vadodara Municipal Corporation extended its advance property tax rebate scheme for 2026-27 until Sep 10, giving taxpayers an additional month to claim concessions on early payments. The civic body collected Rs 186.45 crore under the scheme as of Thursday.The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) said the extension was granted after considering requests from taxpayers.Under the scheme, residential property owners who pay their taxes online are eligible for an 11% rebate. Commercial property owners can get a 6% rebate on online payments.VMC data shows a strong response to the scheme. As of Aug 7, the civic body collected Rs 186.45 crore in property tax.The civic body said the rebate scheme will remain in force until Sep 10. After that, VMC will begin issuing regular property tax demand notices for the 2026-27 financial year.In the same announcement, the revenue department reminded traders and business establishments that Sep 30, 2026, is the last date for renewing their Professional Establishment Certificate (PEC). The department urged eligible establishments to complete the renewal process in the stipulated period.The extension has also been updated in VMC’s latest public notices and on its property tax payment portal.
