Vadodara: In the wake of a recent food poisoning incident at MS University (MSU), the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) stepped up its monsoon food safety drive, inspecting 24 food business operators, including 11 canteens and messes in educational institutions across the city.Officials collected samples of water, raw materials and cooked food from hostels and college canteens during the inspection. Notices were issued to canteen or mess operators at Samras Hostel (MSU), Navrachana University, SNDT College and the Government Nursing College for food safety violations.Beyond educational institutions, the team also found that two grocery stores and a pan shop were operating without valid licences. All three were instructed to immediately cease operations.
