CHENNAI: Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam has announced that he will contest from the Perambur constituency in Chennai and the Trichy East constituency in Trichy. Apart from Vijay, the party’s general secretary N Anand will contest from T Nagar in Chennai, while treasurer Venkataraman will contest from Mylapore. The party’s election campaign management general secretary Aadhav Arjuna will contest from Villivakkam. Expelled AIADMK leader KA Sengottaiyan, who recently joined TVK, will contest from the Gobichettipalayam constituency. Former IRS officer and the party’s propaganda secretary KG Arunraj will contest from the Tiruchengode constituency. The party’s deputy general secretaries, CTR Nirmal Kumar and Raj Mohan, will contest from Tirupparankundram and Egmore constituencies, respectively. Announcing the party’s vision and agenda for the youth, Vijay promised that unemployed graduates above the age of 29 would be given a monthly financial aid of Rs 4,000. He also reiterated that the fight is between the DMK and TVK. “The election is going to be between the people’s alliance, TVK, and the Stalin-led alliance,” he said. He further took a dig at the DMK’s alliance partners, stating that the People Welfare Alliance, formed by the Left parties, MDMK, and DMDK, is now part of the DMK-led alliance. “The (DMK’s) alliance was formed like sticking together broken glass pieces,” he said.
