Kulgam, Aug 9: District Administration Kulgam on Sunday inaugurated the Phase 3 of the Vande Mataram Campaign and Har Ghar Tiranga campaign at a district-level function held at Mini Secretariat, Kulgam.

The inaugural event was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, Shahzad Alam.

The campaign will run across the district from August 09 to August 17, 2026, and aims to encourage citizens to hoist the National Flag at their homes, offices, and public institutions as part of the broader Har Ghar Tiranga movement and to commemorate the 150 years of National Song.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner called upon people from all walks of life to participate enthusiastically and make the campaign a mass movement.

He emphasized that such initiatives strengthen the bond of unity, honor the sacrifices of freedom fighters, and instill pride in the tricolor among the youth. He highlighted the significance of the Vande Mataram and it’s role in India’s freedom struggle and its continued relevance for shaping the national consciousness.

As part of the launch, officials, students, and civil society members took part in national song renditions, pledge ceremonies, and awareness activities centered around Vande Mataram.

Cultural activities honouring the national song were also presented on the occasion by the local theatre and student groups.

Similar activities commemorating tte 150 years of Vande Mataram were scheduled across all blocks and panchayats of Kulgam over the next nine days.

Vande Mataram, India’s national song, continues to inspire citizens.Phase 3 of the campaign focuses on community participation, school programs, and public events to reinforce national pride.

 Earlier, ADC Kulgam,Vikar Ahmad Giri sought the coordinated efforts among departments to ensure smooth conduct and wide public participation involving educational institutions, ICDS, Panchayats, degree colleges and other line departments.

The district level event was also attended by ACD, DIO,Tehsildar Kulgam and other officers and officials alongwith scores of youth, civil society members, students and officials.
