Vadodara: The cityis poised for a packed international cricket calendar, with the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) Stadium set to host high-profile fixtures involving India’s senior women’s team, India U-19 and international sides, including the inaugural Women’s ICC Champions League in Feb 2027.The international season will get underway in Oct, when India’s senior women’s team faces Zimbabwe, followed by a series featuring India U-19 and England U-19.The city will also be part of the inaugural ICC Champions League in Feb next year, with the BCA Stadium selected as one of the tournament venues. The competition is expected to feature teams from India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand and Sri Lanka.The allocation of these fixtures marks another step in the BCA’s efforts to strengthen Vadodara’s standing on the international cricket map.BCA president Pranav Amin represented the association at the 95th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), held at its headquarters at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Friday.Amin said the international fixtures awarded to Vadodara reflected the confidence placed in the BCA’s administration, infrastructure and ability to host major matches. “Every international match awarded to Vadodara is a reflection of that commitment,” he said.
