Motihari: Security agencies deployed along the India-Nepal border at Raxaul arrested an Uzbekistani woman on Friday evening near the Maitri bridge while she was trying to enter Nepal. SSB jawans asked her to produce a passport or visa, but she failed to furnish any documents. Following consultations with the immigration department at the Raxaul border, the SSB handed her over to Haraiya police station for further action.During questioning by Haraiya police, she produced her passport, which identified her as Shakarjon Nurulla Bozorova, a resident of Khorezm in Uzbekistan. According to the passport, her date of birth is recorded as Dec 1994. The passport is valid until Oct 12, 2029. However, she could not produce visas for either India or Nepal.SP Swarn Prabhat said that, according to preliminary information, she had been living illegally in Mumbai since last year and that police were investigating the case.Police are probing the matter from various angles, including how she entered India without a visa and whether she used forged documents. Her mobile phone and other related papers are being examined to ascertain the facts. Several national security agencies have also joined the investigation into her alleged forged Aadhaar card, her illegal stay in India and the suspected attempt to enter Nepal.
