Patna: In view of heavy rush of devotees travelling to Deoghar during the holy Shrawan month, the railways has decided to operate several special passenger trains either originating from or passing through different places falling under jurisdiction of the East Central Railway (ECR) from July 26 onwards.According to ECR chief public relations officer (CPRO) Saraswati Chandra, the railways has decided to operate biweekly two pairs of ‘shrawani mela’ trains (08689/08690, 08645/08646) between Ranchi and Bhagalpur to facilitate devotees reach their destination conveniently. These special trains will leave every Sunday and Wednesday from Ranchi end and every Monday and Friday from Bhagalpur side from July 26 to Sept 12, he said, adding these trains will run via Koderma- Jamalpur-Sultanganj route.In addition, the Danapur-Sahebganj ‘shrawani mela’ special train will run every Sunday during the mela period. The train will depart from Danapur station at 5.15am and reach Sahebganj at around 1.45pm the same day. On its return journey, the train will leave Sahebganj at 3.20pm and arrive at Danapur at 12.30am the next day, he said, adding the special trains have been introduced to provide additional travel facilities to devotees visiting Deoghar.Besides, the railways has also announced the operation of a weekly special train between Mau and Kolkata from July 22 to Sept 23. The Mau-Kolkata special train will leave Mau every Wednesday at 1.20 pm and reach Kolkata at 8.50am the following day. In the return direction, the train will depart from Kolkata every Thursday at 1.20pm and reach Mau at 8.40am the next day, the CPRO said, adding the train will run through jurisdiction of the ECR and will have a composition of 19 coaches.The railways has also extended services of biweekly special trains running on the Anand Vihar-Loukha Bazar, Saharsa- Purnia Court and Raxaul-Narkatiaganj routes to cope with the rush of passengers till Sept 26, sources said, adding a special train between Ahmedabad and Patna would be put into operations on July 22 from Ahmedabad and July 24 from Patna end.
