Hyderabad: Armoor police arrested BJP Armoor town president Mandula Balu for assaulting a private school principal for allegedly teaching Urdu to students. He was produced before the court and released on conditional bail on Monday. Meanwhile, state police issued notices to `X’ to remove videos of BJP workers assaulting the school principal from multiple handles, claiming that the video content disturbs public order.Armoor inspector P Satyanarayana said that they arrested Mandula Balu for assaulting Ameer Khan, principal of Bharat Chandra High School (Bhavishya Darshini School) in Perkit village of Armoor mandal in Nizamabad on June 27.Mandula Balu and others have been booked under Sections 329(4) (criminal trespass), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 118(1) (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means), and 324(4) (mischief), read with Section 3(5) (common intention) of the BNS based on the complaint by school correspondent Mallaiah. “We produced Balu before a local court for remand. Court has granted him conditional bail directing him to appear before the investigating officer every Sunday for two months,” the inspector said.Armoor police also recorded another case against Ameer Khan, Malliah, and teacher Huma Hania under Section 196(1)(b) (promoting enmity between different groups), read with Section 3(5) of the BNS, based on the complaint of Armoor Tehsildar for teaching Urdu to students without permission from the school education department officials and also allegedly instructing students to greet one another with “Adaab”. “The second case is still under investigation,” the inspector said.
