Lucknow: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed concern over rising air pollution levels in NCR, leading chief secretary SP Goyal to hold a meeting over stubble burning in the state.During the meeting, the CS focused especially on making resources and machinery available for stubble management, with officials directed to make these available to farmers to manage agriculture waste better.It was also decided to initiate strict action against industries causing air pollution. Officials were instructed to conduct regular inspections of industrial units and identify those violating pollution control standards. Strict action will be taken against units which are not following rules.The CS also reviewed road development and maintenance works, saying that pothole repairs and restoration of damaged footpaths should be undertaken on priority.A decision was also taken to expedite the procurement process for electric city buses. Officials were directed to identify potential locations for EV charging points and provide the details to UPNEDA for the development of charging infrastructure.
