Prayagraj: Uttar Pradesh has received its largest batch of PCS officers in eight years, with the PCS 2024 recruitment cycle covering 947 posts — the highest since 2018, when 976 positions were filled.The only other major recruitment drive in recent years was in 2021, which saw 627 selections. In the 2024 results, the post of naib tehsildar accounted for the highest number of selections (258). This was followed by 196 assistant commissioner (commercial tax) posts and 142 commercial tax officer posts. A total of 72 candidates were selected as BDOs, 60 as deputy jailers and 40 as sub-registrars. Selections were also made for several other key administrative positions, including 16 assistant regional transport officers (ARTO), 22 treasury/accounts officers, two district commandants (home guards), one superintendent of jail, 18 assistant commissioner (industries) and 23 executive officers. Additionally, the list includes nine district social welfare officers, one district minority welfare officer, five district backward class welfare officers, two district food marketing officers and four district divyangjan empowerment officers.
