Prayagraj: As many as 8,382 schools across Uttar Pradesh may not be included in the process for allotment of examination centres for the 2027 UP Board High School and Intermediate examinations as they have failed to submit mandatory details on the Board’s online portal, officials said.The UP Board had asked 29,182 schools to furnish information about their infrastructure, facilities and other prescribed criteria required for board examinations. However, 20,800 schools completed the online submission process, leaving 8,382 institutions without the required data on the portal.UP Board additional secretary Skand Shukla said the institutions that failed to provide the requisite information would not be considered for centre allocation.

Of the schools that defaulted, 6,083 did not even access the Board’s portal to begin the submission process.The district-wise figures indicate considerable variation in compliance. Aligarh recorded the highest number of schools that did not log in to the portal at 493, followed by Agra with 419, Ballia 295, Ghazipur 293, Etah 249, Mathura 236 and Firozabad 235.In the Prayagraj region, 183 schools reportedly failed to access the portal. The corresponding figures included 222 in Pratapgarh, 126 in Kaushambi and 73 in Fatehpur. Other districts with a sizeable number of schools that did not initiate the online process included Hardoi (218), Deoria (211), Mau (202), Mainpuri (201), Hathras (162), Gonda (168), Lucknow (151), Jaunpur (148), Kanpur Dehat (133) and Farrukhabad (115).Board officials said submission of complete information about school infrastructure and available facilities is a key requirement for determining the suitability of an institution as an examination centre.They added that schools failing to provide the prescribed details would be excluded from the centre selection exercise for the 2027 board examinations. The data submitted through the portal will be used to assess whether schools meet the required standards before centres are finalised.
