Lucknow: UP BJP has planned an elaborate training for its cadre to prepare them for the upcoming polls, including the assembly elections. Sources said the training sessions are likely to be rolled out next month. Currently, functionaries at the mandal level (UP has 1,918 mandals) are being trained by the party. Each training session is held for a day.“The idea is to give orientation to new functionaries organisationally, ideologically, socially, and electorally,” said UP BJP state general secretary Anup Gupta. He said the training sessions for functionaries of the district units will be held for two days.Analysts said the proposed training for newly constituted district units will not be just administrative. It will focus on tightening booth-level control, sharpening ideological clarity, and preparing cadre for upcoming elections. This reflect a model the BJP has fine tuned over the years—turning its cadre into a hybrid of ideological worker and micro-level political manager.UP BJP will complete the process of constituting its executive committees in the 98 organisational districts by this week. The party has constituted the district teams in west UP and Braj region. Sources said UP BJP chief Pankaj Chaudhary and state general secretary (organisation) Dharam Pal Singh will convene a meeting to finalise the teams for the remaining four regions – Awadh, Kanpur-Bundelkhand, Gorakhpur and Kashi (Varanasi). The two leaders have already met and apprised the BJP central leadership about the ongoing organisational overhaul. Keeping the central leadership in the loop reflects the importance given to Uttar Pradesh by the party. The development comes close to the nomination of over 2,800 corporators in the urban local bodies. The nominations, done on the recommendation of UP BJP, is expected to boost party’s poll preparations in the urban precincts. The party would next get its functionaries nominated for the posts of chairpersons and other office-bearers in various municipal boards and corporations.
