NEW DELHI: Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi held a meeting with senior officials of the Department of School Education and Literacy to review priorities and activities planned for the coming period and discuss a roadmap for making school education more effective, accessible and outcome-oriented.
In a post on X, Joshi said the discussions focused on strengthening foundational learning, adopting technology-driven solutions and creating an enabling environment where every child can learn, grow and thrive.
The meeting comes as the Centre continues to focus on improving foundational learning outcomes and using technology to strengthen the delivery of school education.
Joshi said the meeting reviewed the roadmap for the coming period, indicating that foundational learning, technology adoption and measurable education outcomes will remain among the priorities for the school education department.
The emphasis on foundational learning is aligned with the broader direction of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which places foundational literacy and numeracy at the centre of school education reforms.
The minister’s latest meeting also comes shortly after a series of reviews involving officials of the Education Ministry. On August 27, Joshi had met senior officials from both the Department of Higher Education and the Department of School Education and Literacy to take stock of progress on earlier directions and implementation of ongoing initiatives. He had stressed timely execution and effective follow-up.
Earlier, on August 24, Joshi had held a separate meeting with officials of the Department of School Education and Literacy to discuss issues related to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). That meeting reviewed academic, examination and administrative processes, with an emphasis on efficiency, transparency and improved support for students and teachers.
The latest review puts the focus more broadly on the school education system, with technology-driven solutions and learning outcomes emerging as key areas for the next phase of implementation.
