Gandhinagar: Union cooperation minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stones and inaugurated projects worth Rs 265.30 crore for the cooperative sector in Gujarat on Tuesday. He inaugurated the projects while chairing a meeting of cooperation department ministers of all states at Gandhinagar.An official statement said a newly constructed ethanol distillery plant at Nandod in Narmada district, by Shree Narmada Sugar Industry Cooperative Society, at a cost of Rs 40 crore, was inaugurated. A 30MW power co-generation plant was also inaugurated at Nandod, along with an organic potash plant. Shah also inaugurated a newly constructed warehouse and a whey protein concentration powder plant at Khatraj, Anand, by Amul (Kheda District Cooperative Milk Producers Union) at a cost of Rs 75 crore. Foundation stones were also laid for warehouses at Savarkundla and Patan APMCs.
